Makgadikgadi Pan isn't exactly a 'salt lake,' is it?
It's believed that this area was once a saltwater lake until approximately 10,000 years ago. However, the water has since dried up, leaving behind only salt deposits. As a result, it's commonly known as the 'Makgadikgadi Pans' or the 'Makgadikgadi Salt Flats.

The vast pan. What about restroom facilities?
Don't worry, there are portable toilets at the campsite. But, once it's lights out and pitch dark, it's easy to lose your way. So, if you need to leave your sleeping bag for the restroom, bring a handheld flashlight and place another light (like the one on your phone) by your pillow as a marker to stay on track.

Is it safe to encounter wildlife during a bushwalk?
Most herbivores are startled by our presence and will run away. Our local guides are attentive, so there's no need to worry. If you happen to see a lion, stay calm, keep quiet, and follow the instructions of our experienced guides who know the area well. Also, try to avoid wearing brightly colored clothing.
